gene action and combining ability of important agronomic traits in rapeseed (brassica napus l.)

چکیده
inheritance of yield and its contributing characters in rapeseed (brassica napus l.) was studied in a 8×8 diallel cross through griffing and jinks-hayman analyses. both general combining ability (gca) and specific combining ability (sca) were highly significant for seed yield, seed weight and branches per plant, while only gca for seeds per pod and oil content and only sca for pods per plant and days to maturity were significant. both griffing and jinks-hayman analyses showed that seed yield, seed weight and branches per plant were genetically controlled by both additive and non-additive gene actions. overdominance gene action was observed for seed yield and its increasing was controlled by dominant alleles. additive gene action was important for seeds per pod and oil content, while pods per plant and days to maturity were governed by non-additive gene action. relatively high narrow-sense heritabilities were estimated for seeds per pod and seed weight indicating that a considerable selection response is expected for these characters in breeding programs. the results suggested that rgs003 with the highest gca for seed yield could be used as a tester in topcross trials and 19h×option500 with the highest sca and heterobeltiosis could be applied in hybrid breeding.

Combining Ability Analysis of Yield Component Parameters in Winter Rapeseed Genotypes (Brassica napus L.)
Eight winter rapeseed genotypes GA096, Geronimo, Okapi, Orient, Sunday, Zarfam, SW0756, and Modena were used as parents of a complete diallel mating design. A set of 56 diallel F1 hybrids (with reciprocals) including their parents were evaluated in a 8×8 simple lattice design with two replications during 2007/08. Several agronomic traits like Plant height, number of lateral branches per pod, nu...
متن کاملEstimation of Combining Ability and Gene Action for Agro-Morphological Characters of Rapeseed (Brassica Napus L.) Using Line×Tester Mating Design
Combining ability effects were estimated for different agronomic characters in line × tester crossing program comprising 21 hybrids produced by crossing 7 lines and 3 testers. Parents and hybrids differed significantly for general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) effects, respectively. The variance due to GCA and SCA showed that gene action was predominantly additive...

to evaluate the effect of seeding rate on important agronomic traits in three winter rapeseed (brassica napus l.) cultivars, two field experiments were carried out as split plot arrangement in a complete block design with three replications during 2006-2008 growing seasons. three rapeseed cultivars (okapi, modena and licord) and three seeding rates (6, 8 and 10 kg/ha)) were randomized in main p...
متن کاملcombining ability of quantitative and qualitative traits in rapeseed (brassica napus l.) varieties at two nitrogen levels
the combining ability of quantitative and qualititative traits has been studied quite frequently in rapeseed (brassica napus l.), but rarely at different nitrogen levels. twenty-one genotypes, including 6 parents and their 15 f2 diallel progenies, were evaluated at two nitrogen rates, n0 and n150. a combined analysis of variance revealed significant mean squares of general (gca) and specific (s...
